Before we start,  make sure to get a copy of the owner’s manual which you can download at www.sonnysdirect.com and review all the safety information related to this procedure.

Gather the tools and supplies you’ll need which are:

  • Safety glasses
  • 8-foot step ladder
  • 10 mm wrench

Once you have everything ready the first thing you need to do is:

  1. There is very little maintenance needed for the gators once they are set up correctly.
  2. It is always important to check for leaks on the air lines.
  3. The most important adjustment on the gators is making sure the timing is correct and that the gators transition as slow as possible to extend the life of the actuator and hardware.
  4. The actuator flow controls need to be adjusted by using a 10 mm wrench and loosening the jam nut that locks the flow control knobs.
  5. Turning the knobs counterclockwise will speed up actuation and turning the knobs clockwise will slow down the actuation.
  6. The gator should be adjusted to open and close as slow as possible.
  7. Also, inspect and tighten all split collars and make sure inlet screens are free of debris.
