Before we start,  make sure to get a copy of the owner’s manual which you can download at www.sonnysdirect.com and review all the safety information related to this procedure.

Gather the tools and supplies you’ll need which are:

  • Safety Glasses.
  • Standard Combo Wrenches
  • Drive Socket Set
  • Standard Allen Wrenches
  • Permanent Marker

Once you have everything ready the first thing you need to do is:

  1. We are going to adjust the bottom bearing only as bearings can withstand up to 3 degrees of misalignment.
  2. With the permanent marker, mark the position of the bearings on the frame.
  3. Using a 9/16” wrench and 9/16” socket, loosen the jack screws on the side of the bearings.
  4. Loosen the bolts that hold the bearing into the frame.
  5. To increase the pressure on the side of the car, use the inner jack screw to push the pillow block bearing away from the center of the tunnel, only 1/8” increments at a time.
  6. To decrease the pressure on the side of the car, use the outer jack screw to push the pillow block bearing towards the center of the tunnel, only 1/8” increments at a time.
  7. Tighten the bolts that hold the bearing into the frame.
  8. Tighten the jack screws on the side of the bearings.
