Before we start, make sure to get a copy of the owner’s manual which you can download at www.sonnysdirect.com and review all the safety information related to this procedure.
Gather the tools and supplies you’ll need which are:
- Safety Glasses.
- Standard Combo Wrenches
- Drive Socket Set
- Standard Allen Wrenches
- Permanent Marker
Once you have everything ready the first thing you need to do is:
- We are going to adjust the bottom bearing only as bearings can withstand up to 3 degrees of misalignment.
- With the permanent marker, mark the position of the bearings on the frame.
- Using a 9/16” wrench and 9/16” socket, loosen the jack screws on the side of the bearings.
- Loosen the bolts that hold the bearing into the frame.
- To increase the pressure on the side of the car, use the inner jack screw to push the pillow block bearing away from the center of the tunnel, only 1/8” increments at a time.
- To decrease the pressure on the side of the car, use the outer jack screw to push the pillow block bearing towards the center of the tunnel, only 1/8” increments at a time.
- Tighten the bolts that hold the bearing into the frame.
- Tighten the jack screws on the side of the bearings.
