Before we start, make sure to get a copy of the owner’s manual which you can download at www.sonnysdirect.com and review all the safety information related to this procedure.
Gather the tools and supplies you’ll need which are:
- Safety Glasses
- 9/16 Socket with a small extension
- 9/16 Wrench,
- Sharpie Marker
Once you have everything ready the first thing you need to do is:
- Lockout power pack or VFD as well as the pump station before beginning this repair.
- With a sharpie, mark the current clamp position on the manifold for accurate reassembly,
- With the 9/16 Wrench at the bottom, hold the nut, loosen and remove the 9/16 bolt with the 9/16” Socket Wrench.
- Remove the clamp from the manifold, and leave it hanging.
- Remove the cotter pin that connects the arm to the drive block.
- Slide the Drive Arm out from the Block.
- With the 9/16” wrench, hold the nut on the drive block, loosen and remove the bolt with the 9/16” Socket.
- Very carefully but forcefully, slide the block out making sure not to remove or lose the motor key stock.
- Slide the new drive block on the motor shaft, making sure not to create a collision point between the motor bolts and the blockhead.
- With the 9/16” wrench and socket, tighten the bolt and nut.
- Slide the Drive Arm all the way on the Drive Block shaft.
- Secure the Drive Arm with the cotter pin.
- Following the marks on the manifold, attach the two sections of the Clamp with the 9/16” bolts and nuts.
- Tighten the hardware but don’t over-torque it with the 9/16” wrench and socket.
- Release the Lockout Tag out and turn on the equipment in order to check the pivoting angle and the motion of the water manifold.
