Before we start,  make sure to get a copy of the owner’s manual which you can download at www.sonnysdirect.com and review all the safety information related to this procedure.

Gather the tools and supplies you’ll need which are:

  • Safety Glasses.
  • Crowbar,
  • Flathead screwdriver,
  • Cutting pliers,
  • Pliers and hammer.

Once you have everything ready the first thing you need to do is:

  1.   Release air pressure.
  2.   Using the crowbar, slide the carriage all the way forward to release the chain tension.
  3.   Remove (unscrew) the air feeding tubing connected to the shock.
  4.   Remove the cutter pin from the pins.
  5.   Slide-out (remove completely) the pins using the flat head screwdriver. Pay attention that on one side we have two flat washers on top.
  6.   Remove the shocks from the clips.

    Installation of the new shocks:

  1.  Slide the new shocks back in the brackets, remember the 2 washers on the pin closer to the carriage.
  2.  Install the tubing into the new shocks, ensure the o ring is in the hose, then screw the cap all the way in carefully.
  3.  Open the air and adjust the correct PSI depending on the type of chain.
  4.  Check for any air leaks.
