The proper oil to use in your power pack unit is an AW32 non-detergent Hydraulic Oil. Are you able to use a water base hydraulic oil? Yes, but in doing so you can void the manufactures warranty. Water base oil creates more heat, which in turn could possibly damage the seals of any of your pumps and motors.
How to properly Fill the hydraulic power pack..
The power pack is equipped with a low oil level switch which will prevent the motor and pump from running in the case of an oil leak. To properly fill the tank:
- Drain the oil out of the tank -- Once the oil is drained, the low level switch will activate which will turn off the motor.
- Refill the tank with an AW32 non-detergent oil. Once the tank has past the low level switch the power pack will turn on, after the power pack turns on add an extra gallon of oil.
NOTE: We do not fill the tank with oil in the case that there is an oil leak you don't have five gallons of oil leaking out before the power pack low level switch kicks on.
