IMPORTANT NOTE: Sonny's does not recommend for the user to add an air assist to bring the brush down. Adding air to bring the brush down can cause damage to the equipment and the vehicle.
If you are having issues with the brush coming down to hard/fast, make adjustments to the weights to slow it down. Adjusting the weights towards the entrance end of the tunnel will lighten up the brush. Adjusting the brush towards the exit end of the tunnel will make the brush heavier.
The brush should be lite enough to where you are able to move it slightly with your hands.
Make sure the RPM's of the brush match the conveyor speed.
Conveyor Speed | Top Brush |
50-70 CPH | 75-85 RPM |
70-80 CPH | 75-85 RPM |
80-90 CPH | 75-85 RPM |
90-125 CPH | 85-95 RPM |
Note: Before adjusting the weights make sure to mark the spot of the weights, just in case you have to bring them back to their original position.
- Mark the current spot of the weights before adjusting them
- Loosen the two bolts that are holding the weights in place.
- NOTE: Adjust one side at a time.
- Proceed to move the weights with the adjusting bolt to the desired position
- Test the brush.
NOTE: IF there are too many weights in the chamber the brush may not come down. There should be approximately 8-9 wights in the chamber. Each weight weighs around 100 LBS, please be careful when removing weights from the chamber.
