Breaking mirrors and/or damaging cars is not a good look for the car wash and is bad for business.  So what has to be done when your wraps start damaging cars, especially mirrors. 


Check the following before adjusting any piece of the equipment: 

  • Make sure the following items are not bent: 
    • Spindle
    • Bearing box
    • Extension -- If you have one installed on your brush
    • Hub
    • Motor shaft
  • Make sure the brush is rotating with the travel of the vehicle
  • Make sure the torque settings on you power pack are not set too high.  No more than 800PSI on the torque. You want the brush to stall if it gets caught on a mirror or on any other parts of the vehicle
  • Check the pressure and RPMS on the brush based on your conveyor speed.  See chart below




The Wrap hanger bearings will also cause the wrap brush to become very aggressive. To see if your wrap brush needs to be adjusted, do the following: 

  • Disconnect the shock and cylinder from the arm, and move them to the side
  • Place the arm in between the retract bumper and the spring bumper and see if the arm swings to either direction. 
    • If the arm moves towards the spring bumper, the arm is heavy
    • If the arm moves towards the retract bumper, the arm is light
