Why are my roller jamming at the exit of my conveyor?

There are a few things that you may want to check if you are having issues with the rollers getting stuck towards the drive end of your conveyor. These include the following:

  1. The exit door
    • If you have the exit door that has the wheel attached to it; you would need to make sure that the hardware is not loose, causing the wheel to have play.  If the wheel has play then there is a chance that the roller could get caught and get jammed.
      • Fix - You can tack weld the bolt threads so the nut does not come loose.
    • If you have the soft drop; the rubbers on the rosta coupler wears causing the door to stay open wider that it should.  The wider opening can cause the rollers to jam on the door.
      • Fix: Replace the rosta couplers(#20012333)on the soft drop door.  This will allow it to spring back to its normal operating position.
  2. Heco exit section
    • If the rollers are getting stuck while coming down around the sprocket check to make sure that the heco plate has been installed correctly.  Check for a notch on the plate, make sure the notch is facing on the correct position.  The positioning of the notch is determined by the type of sprocket that you are using. See the picture below:
      • Fix: Remove the plate and rotate it to the correct position based on the sprocket that you are using.
    • If the rollers are getting stuck when dropping to the middle deck then check the rubbers dampeners that are bolted on the exit part of the frame.  The rubbers could tend to be too long which will not allow the rollers to roll through the deck.
      • Fix: Cut a small section of the rubber to allow the rollers to pass through the bottom of the sprocket.
