The first thing customers do when they lose pressure is go to the pressure regulator and crank up the pressure. This may fix your pressure issue momentarily, but in the long run you may be causing more harm than good.

NOTE: If you are replacing your pump, make sure to first release all the pressure out of the regulator.  Not releasing the pressure on the regulator before installing it onto a new pump can over pressurize the pump.

Are you losing pump pressure?

Things to check if you are not getting enough pressure:

• Worn spray nozzle(s) -- Before you replace the nozzles, make sure to release all of the pressure out of the pump by backing out the nut on the unloader. Not doing so may cause back pressure which will result in

• Air leak in suction piping
• Clogged suction line or suction strainer
• Suction line inlet above fluid level in tank
• Inadequate fluid supply
• Pump not operating at proper RPM
• Relief valve bypassing fluid
• Worn pump valve parts
• Foreign material in inlet or outlet valves
• Loss of oil prime in cells because of low oil level
• Ruptured diaphragm
• Cavitation
• Warped manifold from over pressurized system
• Air leak in suction line strainer or gasket
• Cracked suction hose.
• Empty supply tank
• Excessive aeration and turbulence in supply tank
• Worn and slipping drive belt(s)
• Cracked cylinder casting
